How Universities handle Sexual Assault Cases are Changing

At the end of April, KCSB News profiled several sexual assault cases at UCSB that were overturned at the beginning of the 2018 2019 school year. While the three cases differed in their respective details, the university-determined ruling in each case was reversed in an appellate court, which found a lack in due process in the university’s handling of allegations. Now, KCSB reporter Lyndsey Tillinghast jumps into the history of university involvement in sexual assault cases, and the federal policy changes shaping the role of universities moving forward.
