KCSB’s Coverage of Gaucho Athletics
All games (except special basketball home games) can be heard live on KCSB 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara or via our webcast. In addition to broadcasts, KCSB offers recaps and previews of games as well as special interviews on The Gaucho Sports Spot which can be heard every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:15 p.m.

KCSB Sports will also follow UCSB’s athletic teams in the NCAA playoffs should they qualify for postseason play. During the previous school year, KCSB Sports followed the UCSB women’s basketball team to its NCAA Tournament match at the University of Virginia and the men’s soccer team to Columbus, OH for the sweet sixteen.

How to get involved with KCSB Sports
Joining the KCSB Sports Department during the regular school year is quite simple. Just come to our weekly meeting, every Monday beginning at 5:30 and lasting until around 5:45. Here you can get started on the path to joining our tri-weekly radio show Gaucho Sports Spot and then joining the broadcasting ranks. During the Summer when there is less going on and there are no meetings, just send an email to the Sports Director (sports at kcsb.org) for all the info you need about becoming a part of the sports department.

About KCSB Sports
Here at KCSB Sports we strive to bring the latest news regarding UCSB athletics to the airwaves. Our volunteer staff covers each and every Gaucho sport in depth, something that no other media outlet can boast. The Gaucho Sports Spot (GSS) is our tri-weekly sports update show running in the Fall, Winter, and Spring, and features reviews and previews of games, live interviews, and roundtable discussion of a wide range of issues surrounding UCSB athletics.

In addition to GSS, KCSB Sports also broadcasts several Gaucho sports live on the air and on our webcast. The sports covered by the Sports Department include men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball and softball. Last year KCSB even covered its first ever lacrosse game. KCSB Sports playoff coverage follows Santa Barbara’s teams as far as they go, having travelled to New York, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio, and Virginia in recent years.

We love our Gaucho athletics here at KCSB Sports and always love new additions to our staff. GO UCSB!
