This week’s No Alibis focuses on political, economic, and cultural struggles in New Orleans on the fifth anniversary of hurricane Katrina. Following news, Elizabeth Robinson and Jordan Camp speak with poet and activist Sunni Patterson and UCSB Professor of Black Studies Clyde Woods. Activist, editor, and political journalist Jordan Flaherty joins us to discuss his new book Floodlines: Community and Resistance from Katrina to the Jena Six (Haymarket Books, 2010). We also speak with Professor Woods about his new edited collection In the Wake of Hurricane Katrina: New Paradigms and Social Visions (The Johns Hopkins University Press, 2010).
