Featured speakers include: Maher Hathout, Senior Advisor at the Muslim Public Affairs Council, Los Angeles; Nuha Khoury, professor in the Department of History of Art and Architecture at UCSB; and Edward Linenthal, professor of History at the University of Indiana. He also authored the bestselling books Better: A Surgeon’s Notes on Performance and Complications: A Surgeon’s Notes on an Imperfect Science. Tune in Monday, June 20, 2011, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.! Santa Barbara Lectures presents author, attorney, and adviser to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, Eva Golinger. She discusses the Bolivarian project for participatory democracy in Venezuela that  occurred through the empowerment of the country’s poor majority during the last decade. Bush cut $34 million from the budget for the United Nations Population Fund. Jane Roberts was brought to Santa Barbara by the American Association of University Women last month. “SB Lectures” is produced by the KCSB News and Public Affairs Department.
