As it’s almost exactly the 20th anniversary of George making it to Pacific after years in the wilderness (and trust me, Iowa, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey are the wilderness; Baltimore, at least in the early ’80s, was just wild), “Frank ‘n’ George” have decided not only to talk about themselves in third person but also do a two-week tribute to their adopted home state, California. (Frank’s been here since before some states were states. And no, we don’t mean solid, liquid, or gas.) There’s a wealth of music about the Golden State, a wealth of musicians who have crafted California sounds of all sorts. We’re going to jam as much of that as we can into 4 hours, starting this week. In addition to songs about Goleta, Montecito, Ventura, and Camarillo, there might even be Huell Howser.
“Frank ‘n’ George” airs Tuesdays 10 am – 12 noon this summer.
