All Riff(s), No Raff This Week on Frank ‘n’ George (July 8)

f-n-g-logo-bestSometimes our themes are a bit obscure (that one about songs composed by musicians born when his or her parents rhythm method failed them, say), but this week is something that should hit everyone in the old solar plexus. This week’s show is devoted to the riff, that perfect little pattern of usually guitary (but not always) goodness that you can’t get out of your head. Think pretty much everything Keith Richards has ever played. (If we play any Stones will be seen, uh, heard, Tuesday–remember, we’re willfully obscure.) If nothing else, you’ll get to find out what Bob Mould and ELO have in common, plus why Miles Davis has the biggest selling jazz album of all time.

“Frank n’ George” airs Tuesdays 10 am – 12 noon this summer.
