KCSB-FM Hosts Spring 2014 UC Radio Network Conference + Concert (Saturday, April 26)

Saturday, April 26, UCSB is proud to host the 2014 UCRN Conference at KCSB-FM and across the UCSB campus.

Attendance is free, open to all, and includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner for those who RSVP by emailing general.manager at kcsb.org!

Bring records and station gear for a record and swag swap!

9am-10am: Breakfast and station tour at KCSB

10am-11am: Keynote (Via Skype) – “Does Radio Still Matter?” with Ken Freedman, Station Manager and Program Director of legendary freeform community-radio station WFMU-FM (Jersey City, New Jersey).

11am-12:15pm: Roundtables

Stay immediately after dinner for a FREE twilight Garage-Rock performance featuring:

A rock quartet (featuring former members of Franklin for Short) whose 2013 debut album appeared on the Burger Records & Rocketship Records labels.

Isla Vista garage-punk trio.

UC Santa Cruz / KZSC-affiliated punk-blues trio.

This evening performance is open to the entire public and will also be broadcast live from the base of Storke Tower.
