Four films will are scheduled through the end of the month.

Tonight’s inaugural presentation (January 14th) is D. A. Pennebaker‘s 1967 cinema verité classic, Don’t Look Back, with Bob Dylan.

Next week, on Tuesday, January 21st, is Kevin Macdonald‘s epic biographical documentary, Marley (2012), about reggae artist and global icon Bob Marley.

On Tuesday, January 28th, Anvil: The Story of Anvil (Sacha Gervasi, 2008) will be screened. The seriocomic film profiles a lesser-known Canadian heavy-metal group which formed in the late 1970s. A special guest (TBA) involved with the film is expected to attend that evening for a post-screening Q&A.

The very next night, Wednesday, January 29th, brings the final film in the series, the 2006 Dixie Chicks documentary Shut Up & Sing, directed by Barbara Kopple and Cecilia Peck, about political expression and censorship in the post-9/11 era.

The movies will be introduced by UCSB Professors David Novak (Department of Music) and Greg Siegel (Department of Film & Media Studies). The showtime for each and every screening is 7pm. For tickets or more information go to the Carsey-Wolf Center website (CLICK HERE).
