Those fabulous KCSB boys Frank ‘n’ George can’t actually play piano, but they can play recordings of others playing piano, so that’s what listeners will get to hear this week–a lot of the tinkling of the ivories. (You really don’t want to hear us play, although George is pretty sure he could pick out that learning classic “Bone Sweet Bone” if he had to.) Those 88 keys will get massaged a mad variety of ways–this is “Frank ‘n’ George,” after all–but we won’t bore you with a whole liszt of who we will play! (Ah, that’s one good piano joke.) Expect everything from Liz Phair’s “Chopsticks” to Glenn Gould. Oh yeah, and some jazz people played piano too, didn’t they. We’ve even got piano playing itself thanks to Conlon Nancarrow. So don’t let this show fall between the cracks–tune in!
“Frank ‘n’ George” airs Tuesdays 10 am – 12 noon this fall.
