Of his program Culture of Protest, Dick Flacks writes:

mow @ 50 part I
This week’s radio show begins a two part remembrance of the March of Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This week: we’ll get some context for the march–remembering the rebellion in Birmingham in spring 1963, and hearing the songs of movement and protest that burst forth in those months. We’ll talk a bit about  the complex story of Bayard Rustin, now being remembered as one of the key architects and organizers of the March (just awarded posthumously the Presidential Medal of Freedom) and hear rare recordings of Bayard singing his heart out.
Next week: all the speeches of that day.
