Fat Cat Records artist Tom Brosseau is a musical storyteller and guitarist, born and raised in North Dakota. Touring and performing in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Taiwan, Brosseau has also collaborated extensively with actor-musician John C. Reilly. He has a residency at the Los Angeles performance venue Largo, while his song, “How to Grow a Woman from the Ground,” was covered by Chris Thile (The Punch Brothers), who released a 2006 album with the same name.Guitarist Sean Watkins started out playing in the bluegrass trio Nickel Creek, alongside sister Sara Watkins and Thile. At the age of 16, he qualified for the National Flatpicking Championship. With three solo albums under his belt, Watkins also performs in Works Progress Administration with Santa Barbara local Glenn Phillips.
Note: On the May 29th edition of “Rocket Garden Holiday” (Wednesdays from 1-3pm), Brosseau and Watkins will be at KCSB for a live in-studio performance and interview.
Z. Berg (of JJAMZ and The Like), the songwriter/singer who will open the Plaza Playhouse Theater concert, is from Los Angeles, CA.
