Keep the Flame Alive Tonight on “Culture of Protest” (Thursday, October 4)

Of his next broadcast, host Richard Flacks writes, “It’s the title of one of the new songs on a brand new album just released by Pete Seeger. We’re on the air tonight after a couple of weeks away and will feature stuff from that album (called ‘A More Perfect union’). Pete is accompanied by Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, Tom Morello, Emmy Lou Harris among others. So the 93-year-old still making songs that are aimed at keeping us going, persevering despite so many reasons to give up hoping. And Holly Near is also out with a new album in a similar vein. We’ll hear from her as well. Tune in for refreshment and inspiration that might be an antidote to that debate!”

“Culture of Protest” airs on Thursdays in the summer from 6-7pm.
