Today at 4pm, San Antonio punk group Girl in a Coma will play live in studio on KCSB’s The Atmosphere.
Signed to Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records in 2006, GIAC has opened for acts such as Morrissey, Frank Black, the Pogues, and Joan Jett herself. They have also played SXSW, Polish Woodstock, and a number of other festivals. In addition to playing music, they focus attention on a number of social issues including unjust immigration laws and youth voter registration.
They will be playing tonight at the Multi Cultural Center (MCC) on UCSB’s campus and tomorrow night at the Echo and Echoplex in LA.
The Atmosphere airs Thursdays from 3-5pm throughout the Spring.
