Comedian DAVID WAIN Joins “The Freak Power Ticket” Monday (February 27)

David WainMonday’s edition of “The Freak Power Ticket” (February 27th) will feature a new interview with comedy actor/writer/director David Wain.

As a feature-film director, Wain is known for the cult-classic summer-camp-movie spoof Wet Hot American Summer, and the hit “bromance” comedy Role Models, starring Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott. His new fish-out-of-water comedy, Wanderlust — which stars frequent collaborator Rudd, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux, Alan Alda, Malin Akerman, and numerous members of Wain’s original comedy troupe The State — tells the story of a recession-battered yuppie couple (Rudd and Aniston) who take shelter at a clothing-optional, free-love oriented, Burning Man-era, rural hippie commune. The Universal Pictures release opened on Friday at theaters around the country.

Along with these movies, Monday’s program will also touch on Wain’s brilliantly zany stage, television, album, and internet works, with The State (which first gained prominence during the 1990s with an MTV sketch-comedy program), the comedy trio Stella (a sort of postmodern 3 Stooges), [adult swim]‘s Children’s Hospital, and My Damn Channel’s web series Wainy Days. “The Freak Power Ticket” producer/host Ted Coe will be round out the hour by mixing in trailers, audio snippets, and tracks from The State, Wain’s childhood friend Craig Wedren (Shudder to Think), Jefferson Starship, and more.

“The Freak Power Ticket” airs on Mondays all winter from 11am-12noon on KCSB-FM.
