On Wednesday, November 3rd, “Art of Peace” host Phil Levasseur featured his interviews with film makers Mark Weisbrot, co-writer of Oliver Stone’s “South of the Border,” and Francis Megahy, director of the documentary, “The Best Government Money Can Buy”.
“South of the Border” chronicles a road trip across five countries to explore the social and political movements as well as the mainstream media’s misperception of South America. Mark Weisbrot co-founded the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR). His areas of research include economic growth, trade, international financial institutions, and Latin America. He writes a column on economic and policy issues that is distributed to over 550 newspapers by McClatchy-Tribune Information Services.
Also featured will be the director of the documentary “The Best Government Money Can Buy,” Francis Megahy, who began his career in British television as a writer and director working on documentaries for the BBC and ITV networks. Megahy later went on to write and direct top-rated TV series and movies.
