Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary Interviewed in “Art of Peace” Podcast + KCSB Welcomes Peter Yarrow & Noel Paul Stookey’s Lobero Live Concert

Update: On Wednesday, September 8th, KCSB host Phil Levasseur interviewed Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary during his public affairs program, “Art of Peace” (Wednesdays 7-8pm). An edited podcast of that program is now available online here.

On Friday, September 10th, Lobero Live presents Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey of the iconic folk trio, Peter, Paul and Mary, in concert starting at 8pm at the Lobero Theatre.

Since 1962, Peter, Paul and Mary led the folk revolution with hits such as “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “Leavin’ on a Jet Plane,” and “If I Had a Hammer.” Emerging as the nation was recovering from the McCarthy era and as the civil rights movement was taking shape, the trio’s career flowered for 45 years, until Mary Travers lost her long battle with cancer. Now, Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey carry on the group’s mission, activism, humanity, and joy.

Following their concert, a backstage reception in the Lobero courtyard will honor Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey, recipients of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation’s Distinguished Peace Leadership Award. Special tickets for these combined events can be purchased online at wagingpeace.org.

Concert tickets for Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey are available at the Lobero Box Office at 33 E. Canon Perdido Street, by phone at (805) 963-0761, or at lobero.org, where they can be printed out at home. KCSB is a media supporter of the Lobero Live concert series.
