KCSB Presents NYC’s Gypsy-Punkers Gogol Bordello on Fri., Oct. 16th, in Ventura; An Interview with Bassist Tommy T Is Now Online!

tommy-tUpdate: On the Monday, October 12th broadcast of “The Freak Power Ticket,” Ted Coe caught up with Thomas Gobena, bass player for Gogol Bordello, and sampled new tracks from “Tommy T”‘s forthcoming solo release, “The Prester John Sessions,” along with a couple Gogol Bordello gems. On Friday, October 16th, KCSB 91.9 FM presents multi-ethnic gypsy-punks Gogol Bordello, live in concert at the Ventura Theater. Led by founder Eugene Hutz, the nine-piece band blends an MC, acoustic guitar, violin, accordian, and members from 8 nations into one frenetic rock-and-roll ensemble.

hutz_bigTheir appearance marks the October release of the group’s new record, “Live from Axis Mundi,” from Side One Dummy Records. Opening the night is Canadian indie-rock group Apostle of Hustle.
