“Tibetan Buddhism and Living Fully in the Present”: Prof. Jose Cabezon on “Art of Peace,” Weds., 7pm

“Spirituality I take to be concerned with those qualities of the human spirit – such as love and compassion, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, contentment, a sense of responsibility, a sense of harmony-which bring happiness to both self and others.” – The XIV Dalai Lama from “Ethics for a New Millennium.”

In celebration of UCSB Reads 2009 theme, “Ethics. Beyond Ourselves,” “Art of Peace” will feature interviews with 3 locally based scholars about Tibetan Buddhism, religion & science, and the Dalai Lama. This Wednesday, March 25th, at 7pm, Join “Art of Peace” host Philip Le Vasseur as he speaks with Prof. Jose Ignacio Cabezon, Professor of Religious Studies and the XIVth Dalai Lama Endowed Chair in Tibetan Buddhism and Cultural Studies at UCSB.
