On Memorial Day Weekend, from Friday, May 23rd through Monday, May 26th, The Do LaB presents the west coast’s premiere green art and music festival, the third annual Lightning In A Bottle, which takes place at Live Oak Campground in Santa Barbara. At a location spanning 40 acres, more than 60 acts will perform: from electronic artists to live bands to unique performance troupes from all around North America and beyond. Headliners include Lucent Dossier Vaudeville Cirque, Yard Dogs Road Show, Adam Freeland, West Indian Girl, Bassnectar, and the Stanton Warriors. In addition to the music, the four-day event will feature a variety of workshops, seminars, art exhibits, eclectic vendors, healthy foods and an eco fashion show.
The Do LaB strives to position Lightning in a Bottle as a model for sustainable large-scale festival entertainment, by powering the event almost entirely by solar energy and bio-diesel, as well as implementing environmentally friendly practices across all facets of production, including sponsors. This year, Lightning in a Bottle will become one of the first summer music festivals to completely eliminate the sale of extremely wasteful disposable plastic water bottles by offering free water to anyone with a reusable water container. Reusable, eco-friendly containers will be on sale at the event.
Live Oak Campground is located at 4600 Hwy 154, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. Nestled in the pristine forest setting between the San Raphael and Santa Ynez Mountains, Live Oak is 100 miles northwest of Los Angeles, 15 miles northeast of Santa Barbara city, 15 miles southwest of Solvang, and 5 miles from Cachuma Lake Recreation Area.
Festival tickets and multi-day passes are available online now and will be available at the location’s box office the weekend of the event. For tickets, camping details, and other info, log onto lightninginabottle.org.
