Staff and teens from a collaborative group of local agencies, including KCSB-FM, have worked together to organize two FREE “805 Summer Mix” concerts, to bring the community’s youth together in a positive way this August! They invite area teens to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy some great music and the company of other Santa Barbara youths—all at the beautiful Sunken Gardens of the Santa Barbara Courthouse!
Saturday, August 25th, from 12noon-6pm, brings the 805 Summer Mix Music Festival, which will feature a variety of music from hip hop to pop to indie rock. The artists performing during the day include local teens, Tigers in the City, hip-hop with Terminal, and Sound in Color artist, Blu, and indie rock with Slow Dance Records’ Kissing Tigers, The Happy Hollows, and The Henry Clay People (the last 4 acts all being from Los Angeles, but 2 of them with roots in Santa Barbara). Games and food and beverages will be on site as well as representatives from organizations with information on their youth programs.
Saturday, August 18th, featured the 805 Summer Mix Hip Hop Concert from 5-8pm, with the artists Aidge of The Aesthetics Crew, Inner City Dwellers, Spirit, and headliner Aloe Blacc (of Stones Throw Records, formerly of Emanon).
These all-ages concerts are free and open to the public. The Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Gardens are on Anapamu between Anacapa and Santa Barbara Streets.
