KCSB-FM sponsors the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History’s presentation of surf music legend Dick Dale, “The King of the Surf Guitar,” live in concert, on Saturday, August 4th, at the Fleischmann Auditorium, on the grounds of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History (2559 Puesta Del Sol). Dick Dale single-handedly created the surfing sound in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and had a career revival after the inclusion of his all-time classic, “Misirlou,” in Quentin Tarantino’s hit movie, “Pulp Fiction.” This event is part of the SBMNH’s “Inspired by the Environment Music Series.” There will also be post concert reception with Mr. Dale, which requires a separate admission. Showtime is 8pm. The museum website has more information about the event, and also about tickets; or call 805-682-4711 ext. 170.
