<p>ArtWalk is a free self-guided walking tour of 200 artists at over 80 locations in Ventura’s Downtown Cultural District. More information is available at the Ventura Artwalk website (see above). The Ventura Harvest ArtWalk is a presentation of the City of Ventura Cultural Affairs Division and is proudly sponsored by KCSB 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara.</p>

3. and maybe another local to play a few songs. maybe PHYSICAL FITNESS???</p>

<p><strong>November 12th at 7:30 PM in the BIKO GARAGE (6612 Sueno Rd., Isla Vista CA).</strong> this will be a really big one. seriously. and it will be cool cause it&#8217;s not just rock. cool electronic stuff and acoustic stuff.<br />
1. <a href="http://www.myspace.com/luckydragons">LUCKY DRAGONS</a>. laptop electronic stuff. really really good. josh i think you&#8217;ll dig it. a lot of people will be excited about them.<br />
2. <a href="http://www.myspace.com/piterpat">PIT ER PAT</a>. really cool experimental rock type stuff. played with them once in san luis obispo. really fun show.<br />
3. <a href="http://www.myspace.com/hecubahecuba">HECUBA</a>. don&#8217;t know a lot about this band but it sounds really good. like lucky dragons, also part of the smell scene in LA. people will surely dig this.<br />
4. <a href="http://www.myspace.com/50690003">DEAD WESTERN</a>. he&#8217;s from sacramento. and is really amazing. pretty weird psychedelic acoustic stuff. people will be sort of entranced by it. cause he has a weird singing voice heh.</p></blockquote>

<p><a href="http://www.kcsb.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/hives1.jpg" rel="lightbox[905]"><img src="http://www.kcsb.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/hives1.jpg" alt="new smaller hives" title="hives1" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-913" /></a>The Hives are a Swedish garage-rock band that first rose to prominence in the early 2000s as a leading group of the garage rock revival, playing garage punk. Their breakthrough came with the release of the &#8220;best-of&#8221; compilation <em>Your New Favourite Band</em>, featuring their most commercially successful song &#8220;Hate to Say I Told You So&#8221;. The Hives are known for their &#8220;hilarious self-glorification,&#8221; and performances in matching suits that change with each album, but are always black and white.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The first week in October, KCSB-FM sponsors 2 concerts at the Majestic Ventura Theater: college-radio mainstays, They Might Be Giants (Tuesday, October 2nd) and former Jefferson Airplane &#038; Hot Tuna member Jorma Kaukonen (Wednesday, October 3rd). </p>

Fronted by &#8220;the two Johns,&#8221; Linnell and Flansburgh, the prolific <em>alternative-rock</em> group They Might Be Giants is touring in support of its summer 2007 Idlewild/Zoe Records release, &#8220;The Else.&#8221; Opening for Tuesday night&#8217;s headliners is the Irish indie-pop/electronic group, Oppenheimer. </p>
<p><img class="alignright" src="http://www.mspmag.com/images/music/asset_upload_file283_64215.jpg" alt="kaukonen" />On Wednesday, Jorma Kaukonen will be showcasing music on his spring Red House Records release, &#8220;Stars in My Crown,&#8221; an acoustic-oriented record on the heels of his Grammy-nominated 2002 album, &#8220;Blue Country Heart.&#8221; Kaukonen will also be sure to revisit his legendary Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna songs, as well.</p>
