Saul Williams is an American writer, actor and musician known for his powerful blend of spoken word/slam poetry, hip hop and rock music, and his starring role in the independent film, Slam. Williams’ lyrics touch on race, sexuality, politics, and spirituality with stunning courage and gracefulness. His “Not In My Name” recording has become something of a anti-war anthem for this generation. Williams’ recent album of music, The Rise and Inevitable Liberation of Niggy Tardust!, was produced by Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails fame), and its release makes Williams one of the first non-mainstream artists to offer their album widely for free on the internet.
