Premiere of local documentary “Citizen McCaw,” Friday March 7 at the Arlington Theater

Citizen McCawOn Friday, March 7, the long-awaited documentary Citizen McCaw premieres at the Arlington Theater in downtown Santa Barbara. The film chronicles events since July 2006, when editor Jerry Roberts and five of his colleagues quit the Santa Barbara News-Press, citing owner and Co-publisher Wendy McCaw’s abandonment of journalistic ethics, which McCaw denied. Since then, McCaw and dozens of her former staffers have been engaged in a fierce clash of wills that raises important national questions of journalistic ethics and media ownership.

The film screens at 7:30pm followed by audience dialogue with the producers at 9pm.

For tickets, call 805-963-4408, for more info log onto www.citizenmccaw.com

The band will be drawing from its decade-plus of making music together, and will be featuring songs from its recent punk-rock opera, Addicted to Bad Ideas: Peter Lorre’s Twentieth Century, a reflection on the world-battered, morphine-crazed, tragicomic character actor Peter Lorre, and a whole lot more.
