Go Tell It on the Mountain: The Blind Boys of Alabama Christmas Show

The Blind Boys of Alabama return to the Marjorie Luke Theatre, December 21st for a holiday concert to remember! The beautifully renovated theatre is a classic match for this legendary group.

The four time Grammy-winning soul gospel legends are one of the biggest genre-crossing success stories in recent years. The Blind Boys of Alabama have spread the spirit and energy of pure soul gospel music for over 60 years, ever since forming their group at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind in 1939. Founding members Clarence Fountain and Jimmy Carter are joined by more recent arrivals to carry on this traditional soul-gospel sound.

In the past five years, they’ve recorded moving renditions of songs by everyone from Tom Waits to Prince and have performed with an equally diverse array of artists – from Peter Gabriel to Ben Harper. Consistently they have created collaborations seasoned with a time-tested understanding of the sounds that move man’s soul.

Join us for an unforgettable evening with these extraordinary artists. A rousing, spiritual good time is in store for everyone as they mix things up with their unique take on holiday songs as well as traditional favorites. (www.BlindBoys.com)
