Also on Monday Leo Schumaker, host of “Bluesland” will be playing the music of the blues cruise starting at 1pm throughout the show to 4pm.

Fifty Isla Vista Families Served Eviction Notices

The Isla Vista Tenants Union is aiming to help fifty families who have been served eviction notices at the Cedarwood Apartments in Isla Vista. Associate Director of News and Public Affairs Hassan Naveed went to the apartment complex to interview tenants on their reaction to the eviction notices. Tenants expressed their concern in regards to the short thirty-day notice.

August 15, 2006: Biking Across the Nation

Terry Hunter from Eugene, Oregon made a pit stop at UCSB during his spiritual journey across the nation. The purpose of his journey is to raise awareness of victims of Hurricane Katrina. Hunter explains the inspiration of his excursion and what exactly keeps him going especially on a long journey. Reporter Cathy Murrillo interviews Hunter.

July 28, 2006: News-Press Town Hall Meeting

Associate News Director, Hassan Naveed, attended a Town Hall Meeting concerning the current News-Press situation. The meeting was aired on KCSB on Friday, July 28th. Former Executive Editor Jerry Roberts and writer Melissa Burns both spoke at the event stressing their concerns of the violation of journalism ethics of the News-Press.
